Article Writing Structure

A good article is written in such a way that it pulls the reader in and guides him through the content. Conforming to a standard format also makes it easier for article directories and sites that publish content to pick up your article and publish it. This section is for submitting your articles through Article Marketer. However, most of the rules apply even if you're submitting your articles by hand at various article sites.

1) Title Field

Title is most important field in an article. A good title immediately captures the reader's attention and compels them to keep reading. Your title should be question based headline. Questions based headline irritate the brain and force to want to know more. Some tips to remember when writing a title.
Three steps involve making powerful heading, Questions, Problems & Curiosity
You are writing for both the search engines as well as human beings. For the sake of the search engines, include your main keyword or keyword phrase in the title. Your title must persuade the reader to read the rest of your article.

2) Summary or Description

The summary, or description, of your article is often overlooked. This might be the only piece of text that will be displayed when your article shows up in an article directory. Sometimes you have the option of submitting the summary separately, other times the article directory software simply takes the first paragraph or so of your article. I suggest that you focus on the first paragraph of your article to provide you with your summary and introduction at the same time.
Like the title, it should create curiosity in the mind of your reader to attract them to read further. Please remember that a good article tries to solve some problem for the reader - try and describe what problem this article will solve. If you just can't come up with something clever for your description field, rewrite the first couple of sentences of your article and use that. This can help "punch up" the opening of your article and catch more readers' eyes.

3) Body Field

The body of your article will bring across your main solution to the problem that you have sketched in the mind of your reader in your summary and introduction. For readability, it's best if articles meant for the Web are formatted with short paragraphs, separated by a blank line (hard return). Long unbroken blocks of text are pretty difficult to read online. As a rule of thumb, a good length for paragraphs is 3-4 sentences.
First paragraph should be short and to the point, with a clear explanation of what the subject of the page is. The following paragraphs should give a summary of the article. They should provide an overview of the main points the article will make, summarizing the primary reasons the subject matter is interesting or notable, including its more important controversies, if there are any.
Try to use bullets and heading because Bullets and headings catch the eye and once more pull the reader into the text. But some article directories do not allow HTML code or other formatting inside your body. My suggestion is that you write for 'text only' as a standard. Simulate bullets and headings by making use of numbers, capitals, or a special character, like the tilde (~), or star (*).

4) Author Box

Always include a way for your readers to contact you. A website address is mandatory, and you may also include your business phone number or an email address.
Always include the author's name. After all, it is the "About the Author" box. This is your opportunity to make the link between the outstanding content in the article, and the author that wrote it.
